Browser developers always improve web browsers for better rendering of certain authoring tools. As a result users get latest version of browsers. This is good for us because in every developed version we get many new features. But the problem is about Blog or website compatibility.

Whenever a new version of web browser release with new rendering engine, then our website become incompatible with new browser. And this is happening especially with Internet Explorer. As far as I can remember Internet Explorer 7 was built with the most advances in CSS support. But when Internet Explorer 8 released then they have included completely new rendering engine, because of advancement of CSS. At the time CSS 2.1 version was released. As a result Microsoft used completely new rendering engine on Internet Explorer 8. But development process is not static. For the time being we will get latest version of Internet Explorer with updated features. But our Blog should make compatible for it.

Recently Microsoft has released completely new Edge browser which is also known as Internet Explorer 11. Edge browsers mainly developed for quick search and more compatible with latest CSS support. And this is also released with brand new rendering engine. But to make our Blogger site compatible with Edge we must take some extra steps.

But many Internet Explorer users become dissatisfied due to browsers performance but don’t be unhappy because the main target of browser development is to make it easy to implement by hand or in an authoring tool.

I know you are worried about making your Blog site with edge compatible, but no worries, we can make our site edge compatible by adding a simple META tag.

Making our Blog site compatible with Internet Explorer 8

I won’t say everybody using Latest edge browser on their PC. Still there are millions of PC where using Internet Explorer 8. And I have already share this Internet Explorer 8 build with a different rendering engine. So we must make our Blogger site compatible with Internet Explorer 8. Please just follow the below steps-

Step 1 Log in to your Blogger Account and Go to your Blogger Dashboard

Step 2 Click on -> Template -> Edit HTML-> 

Step 3 Now find the  by pressing Ctrl+F (Windows) or CMD+F (Mac) 

Step 4 Copy the META tag from below and Paste it after/below   <head>

<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=8"/>

Step 5 Finally hit the Save template button.

Now your Blogger template is compatible with Internet Explorer 8. Our next target is to make our Blogger site compatible with latest edge browser.

Making our Blog site compatible with Edge Browser

After releasing of Windows 10 now we are in a new era of windows experience. Because there are many features included which was not seen before on Windows PC. Among them Edge browser is significant, because edge browsers released with most advancement and comprehensive CSS support from Microsoft. And there are huge users are using edge for browsing websites and blogs. So we should make our Blog or website compatible with edge also. Please go through the below steps-

Step 1 Log in to your Blogger Account and Go to your Blogger Dashboard

Step 2 Click on -> Template -> Edit HTML->

Step 3 Now find the  by pressing Ctrl+F (Windows) or CMD+F (Mac) 

Step 4 Copy the META tag from below and Paste it after/below  <head>

<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge"/>

Step 5 Finally hit the Save template button.

Congratulation your Blogger template is now compatible with Internet Explorer 8 and edge.

You should know a little bit about those META tag. The "X-" stands for "Experimental" and is reserved for openly non-HTML-standard tags.

When Internet Explorer loads the web page, it does render the entire thing. In loading time when IE detect the above Meta tags then they hits that. As a result your Blogger template become compatible and performs smoothly.
